You doubted me you laughed at me claimed that I never could be A man of worth A man of values someone who would amount to anything But I'll prove you wrong I will get along I will be a man worthy of song Creepy and weird that's all I ever hear I smile at you through the insults acknowledging you as a human being For you could never understand the depths of my being The love and affection for the world My niceties being taken as hostilities Being taken as perversions of what they really are So I smile and laugh, day by day never letting my true self see the light of day for no one could understand what it means to me to be a man
