He watches from a distance Seeing the strain in her eyes, voice, and movements None notice the subtle changes over time Except He does The paleness worsens The weariness is noticeable Yet the girl moves on Continues to do everyday tasks Smiling like nothing is wrong He asks Himself "Why do Others not notice?" Wonders if they are blind Remembers hearing the early goodnights As the girl was tired Growing more and more frequent He noticed Said nothing Watching, waiting, listening, protecting from afar He watches her as she comes towards Him Having been two weeks away His eyes are startled but He hides it The girl looks worn out Looks worse than before The luster of her hair diminished The twinkle in the eyes dull Yet she tries to hide it He remembers that day today Why did He not do something? Why did He just watch her waste away? Looking upon her still form Laying on pillows of silk Mahogany surrounding the lifeless form A tear slips down His cheek He whispers "Go in peace girl" "You hid it well" Written by:  Niyahlove All rights rserved
