I feel you, ac. Putting yourself out there, exposing yourself to the unknown, risking the possibility of ridicule or simply risking losing confidence trying to earn some ... it's the scariest thing in the world. But this is a pretty supportive community, so if you take a leap of faith, what you find here might prove to be worth it. 

You also seem prepared for the worst, so looks like you can take whatever comes? :P And just stick around for the good stuff if you do, because I promise with such a wide audience here, it's REALLY hard to not find somebody, even just one person, who can relate to something you wrote, even just one of your works. 

Believe in yourself. Give yourself a chance. A chance you take on yourself can never be wasted right? If it doesn't work out, you can always leave and come back again when you're ready, but at least give it a shot. We're all right here with you, risking it all. For a chance to be heard. And you'll get that here I think, you'll be heard. And you will grow. Of that, I'm sure. People who've been here longer can probably attest to that and give you more confidence than I can though. Maybe you're asking the wrong question.  Instead of wondering about the worst that could happen, you could wonder about the best that could happen.
