so strange
beautiful 
sometimes ugly
fills my heart

A lover who...
draws a line on intimacy
who accepts, but not fully
who makes me laugh
but slings an arrow
a tear drop falls

Love so fulfilling
but leaves me wanting

Bittersweet...
the heart yearns 
for romance
and sighs in comfort

Always touched
in friendship
denied a lover's touch
of sensual promise and passion

A love poem indeed, or at least that is the opinion I share. It feels like a tug of war between the narrator and their partner of many years that has lost his or her romantic side and it has left the narrator at a loss because it is what is yearned for. Lovely write. I like the duality of the poem it shows two both sides of the coin  and reaches out to those who may have felt similarly

Beautiful and deeply penned, a love poem for me....not all love poems have happy endings, sometimes they can be tragic ... I think Timothy nails it with 'hauntingly beautiful' ...

every one at some time or other wants to reclaim love
in it's pristine form...love beyond the realm of carnal
love that is mature and expects nothing back ...
in a world getting fragmented the idea of love too is scattered..speaks of what love lacks..
