What do you do when “I’m sorry,” is not enough?
The struggle to understand that you can’t always take back words
You can’t take back pain
You can’t rewrite the past
You weren’t you but it doesn’t matter
What’s done is done
I care doesn’t mean the same
So you bite your tongue
Stiffen that upper lip
Turn around
And walk away
