Sitting on my front porch swing Trying not to think about the things Going on down the street In this crazy mixed-up World How people like to fuss and fight Over wrongs they think are right Say it's going to ruin lives As faces turn purple Why can't we all just get along Balance out the does and don'ts Remembering that we all count Being one and the same Set aside our differences Look at it as if we're kids On good times how they crack the lid Only then we'll win this race Sister to sister, brother to brother Lift a hand to help each other Not worry about race, creed, or color In fact, don't worry at all Just find yourself a front porch swing Try not to think about anything Going on round the block or down the street In this crazy mixed-up World

Front Porch Swing
