Happy New Year is just another day,
As WhatsApp inboxes overflow with clichés.
A 'feel-good factor' fills the air,
Festive joy hides the burdens we bear. Yet for some, this day holds no cheer,
Only the weight of a new dawn of fear. Across the border, fireworks ignite, Revellers dance through the jubilant night. But on this side, a darker fate—
Fleeing bombardment as clocks reset the date.
Ravaged by war, their lives remain,
Trapped in a cycle of sorrow and pain.

Happy New Year : A Reflection
