We meet, she's afraid, I'm nervous, She pushes away, I push to make friends. Clearly I see her in pain, And she can see I'm no different. We talk, I nervously, Her, rather like a punk. But we bond, she's no longer afraid, I'm friends and no longer nervous with her. Then she's tortured again, I can't stand by. I throw myself at the danger, Without caring for my own life. I'm hurt, but she is safe. And she tells me goodbye, and that scar runs deep I say goodbye as well, And cry to myself. I lost the small one that I cared for, The one who I loved and held closest. So I sit here, wondering at the stars, Who just shine in their infinity. While they watch over, sentinels of light, I'm down here, showing how I care for the small.
