The fields of snow white and deep scarlet moved with the tender airs of spring, his eyes with the melting gold colours of citrine looked only at mine, and I held the quiet strength of his features near to mine with my hands, the lustre of this fervent glance as the sun was my Cedric, with whom I could only be with under the blushing skies for so long before the veil of night fell and the light of the moon roams the earth with his werewulf steps in of the dark hours, he murmurs to my ears, “I cannot be the mortal one for your affection, I may only whisper stories in my heart at the sight of your beauty” to which I replied, “So tell me one to make these hours of us last a little longer”, a butterfly touched his sharp cheek before it flew away as he began to say, ”I will tell you the story of the hero of the shapeshifter wolves, her tale begins as this: “The dark woods surrounded Zaria as she walked to the elder wolf, the shining amber eyes were following her steps as she closed her own to mentally attempt to erase the rushing feeling of tenseness in her body. The wolves collectively spoke to her, “Fear not, for the elder trusts in you”. Upon reaching the old, grey wolf that spoke to her, “My dearest one, you must retrieve a crystal of light to purify this forest, go to the portal leading to the human world and only return when you have retrieved it”, she had then taken an internal deep breath and bowed to him with her reply, “I will not dismay you”. She shape-shifted into her human form and walked to the portal, holding herself steady as she entered through the shining white light. The portal path proved to be heavy-winded as her body landed upon the hard, cold snow, she heaved herself upwards with the thought, “I suppose I will start walking till I find a refuge for the night”. And so she began her trek under the cold winds as the journey grew longer and longer, her consciousness slowly began to fade until she finally fell to the ground. Only upon awakening did she feel the air that was like a warm embrace, but her inner wolf instincts sensed that there was danger, and her body felt tight as she realised the ropes held her back from moving. Quietly, she scanned her surroundings for a way of escape, only to be dismayed by a highly simplistic tent setting with only a cooking *** wood for a fire and some strange items in jars surrounding her. Zaria could hear the resounding of an occurring argument outside, it was the voice of a young witch speaking to an older one, “A shapeshifter wolf, mother? Do you wish for the cosmic spirits to show their wrath upon us?” to which the older one replied, “Worry not, my dear Alesia, of things that do concern you”. Then they both entered the tent as Zaria swiftly feigned death, the elder witch said to her younger, “I will retire to my bed now, do not tamper with anything”. The night fell as the apprentice Alesia, who arose in stealth from her bed, murmured to Zaria, “Worry not, I will help you escape, my friend”, as she performed her magic to untie the ropes and gave Zaria a teleportation potion, who then found herself disappearing until she was falling from the clouds. Instinctively, she shape-shifted back into a wolf while hearing the deafening sound of a soaring dragon that grabbed her in it’s clutches, but to her blessed fortune, she caught a glimpse of a glimmering, bright crystal in the centre of the dragon’s chest. Not long after, the monster landed where it’s cave lied, and as the draconic beast slept, our female wolf was finally able to sneak out of it’s grip and took violent claw swipes at it’s chest, it soon awakened as she managed to dodge the flames and take the crystal in her thick jaws, she kept sprinting until she saw a magical site with a mage standing near the ruins, he smiled and said, “I could sense that you are in need of my help” to which she replied, “yes, I need to return home”. And the mage began his spell as Zaria returned to her refuge in the dark woods, the elder wolf came to her, “I am grateful for your return, the journey must have taken it’s toll on you, you may rest for now as the woods will now return to their former pure glory”. The elder took the crystal from her and placed the solid, clear material inside the earth as the surroundings began to transform from deathly dim to the brightest iridescence, for the land of the wolves has risen once more.” As Cedric ended the story, I clung to him longer until the dusk arrived, he said to me, “I must leave now, before the arrival of the night”, and he smiled before swiftly disappearing, I then drove my car to the cabin by the beach, where I then slept soundly before awakening to watch the sunrise over the ocean, for he will soon arrive as my dawn of love.
