Come for the final farewell. One day, I will truly fall silent— Never again to hear another call. Familiar faces will watch from afar, Yet my eyes will search only for you. I do not know if you will come or not, But still, I’ll long to see your face one last time— Just once, for a little while, in silence. You needn’t say a word; Just come, as you used to. When you do, it will feel as though, for a moment, Everything was once right in the world. You will come, won’t you? Stand among the crowd, just once— so that before I close my eyes, I may know that the one I loved all my life, came at least for the final farewell.
