Welcome to the ongoing human project, to be more than sentient objects in a world perceived as dangerous; survival depends on life’s attempts. Restoration starts with individuals repairing fractures within division; through the power of the mind’s insight, our own shadows are claimed by the light. Activity bears the fruits of growth, the stagnant bent to life’s control; physicality mixed with the intellectual, each moving beyond what’s conceptual. The single soul works with the all, thoughtfully deciding to leave the thralls; a world can change by their intention, commitments leading to our intervention. Life’s evolution asks for a struggle, combined with suffering in life’s puzzles; ascension throwing off the manacles of rote membership as merely animals. © 2026. Lynn Green. The poem “Human Project” presents human existence as an ongoing project of self-awareness and transformation, where individuals must confront inner divisions and struggle collectively to evolve beyond instinct into conscious, purposeful being.
