The first few things I learned, was the color wheel My favorite combination was red & blue equals purple. My grandmothers’s house was yellow. She asked me my favorite color. I said purple. She said yellow. We joked that purple was her favorite too, But I was a jealous toddler. Her favorite color was purple. She wore it everywhere she could. For my birthday, a purple backpack full of purple gel pens and sharpies. I see the galaxy and I see her eyes. His headphones were purple. I didn’t love him, not very much. But he brought me food and joy, and what more could I ask? But I now find my life devoid of purple. Unnatural in nature, where has the color gone?
