To realize how far this has gone on
All I can remember
Is this
The Lifeline Exercise Card
Fear & Love
A hundred opportunities for both
But always, the middle
Loneliness for which I subscribed
Companion, oh companion
Myself, I
The Lone Wanderer unwilling to try
For the rare occasion
As the sunlight in your hair
A moment in outer space
Willingness to care
Till lone fire permits me to do
The bonding question
Of those like I
"Show me your scars and I'll show you mine"
Each instance hoping
This, "Hello" for the last time
