"Look before you cross the street," Mother said, "or you'll get run over by a speeding semi and your body will become flat. No paramedic will be able to scrap your body off the ground. Only raccoon's claws can remove your body. A perfect road pizza. They'll drag your flat corpse to their homes, fry you up, using the bread that they got from the garbage as toppings and eat you for dinner.
