Once I loved in the span of sand-like seconds, grains of time slipping out of my clutching fingers, into the yawning abyss of hazy memory. And every now and again, a faint Echo sounds out from down there, and Narcissus wakes, quakes, and drowns out her scream, with the dying light of my dreams. 'Me.' 'It's all me now.' he smiles, as he sits in a deceptive shallow, oblivious to the scars on his back. Oh, I know, reflection - I know. But once, I loved. Once.

Once I loved
Once I loved in the span of sand-like seconds, grains of time slipping out of my clutching fingers, into the yawning abyss of hazy memory. And every now and again, a faint Echo sounds out from down there, and Narcissus wakes, quakes, and drowns out her scream, with the dying light of my dreams. 'Me.' 'It's all me now.' he smiles, as he sits in a deceptive shallow, oblivious to the scars on his back. Oh, I know, reflection - I know. But once, I loved. Once.
I learned to love myself because loving others became too painful...but I still mourn the part of me that could reach outward.
