How long have we been here?
Are we penguins and polar bears?
Do we work as me and you?
My eyes are filled with snow,
and your mouth is brimming too
But I tell you that I see what you say
Isn't that the right thing to do?
The sun never stops shining
But we stay at the dark side of the moon.
There are a few inches till our journey ends
But we'll end no time soon.
But I shall press on and on
Until we can walk at our best.
Is this snow storm never ending,
Or will we some day find rest?

Basic analysis:
This poem is about not being able to see eye to eye. It was inspired by a time my friends were fighting.
The setting of this poem is a snowstorm/blizzard,where our speaker is trying to get to an unknown location.
The poem was written such that even though our speaker is talking to someone else,we don't know whether the person is physically
present, meant to replicate how when arguing with someone, even if they're right infront of you,you still feel disconnected from them.
The poem was split into three lines and three stanzas to show how disorienting a snowstorm is,but if you walk in it long enough, you'll get used to it,in the same way getting into an argument with a close person may feel strange, but it can eventually become somethin you're used to.
Deeper analysis:Stuff I think might need more explaining
The line :"Are we penguins and polar bears?" is based on how penguins and polar bears live on opposite sides of the earth, and though their environments may be similar, they aren't meant to be together/in the same environment. This line is the reader question if them and their lover are really made for each other.
"The sun never stops shining" refers to how things seem to never change in these kinds of scenarios."But we stay at the dark side of the moon." refers to how because things aren't changing, progress towards reconciliation can't be made. The final two lines of the stanza talk about how the situation can be solved with something so small, whether it be a conversation,or just a sorry.
Finally, the first two lines of the last stanza talk about how the speaker still refuses to give up until they can repair their relationship with their lover. They may be separated(by ideals),but they're still in the same snow storm.
Thank you so much for reading my poem, and all ths extra analysis, feel free to let me know the meanings you got from the poem,or any questions or advice that you have.
