Autumn is here and reminds me of you The leaves changing colors, the way you did too You left the city we called our home and came back a foreigner You lost yourself in a new world and I lost you Without me at your side, you grew and grew and grew Until the space between us was so big I couldn’t touch you anymore You spent the semester carving a river between us You were scared of drowning So instead of swimming You ran

You left for school in the fall and left me behind too.
