the foggy shiver of a drive, on the shoulder i turn to look-- two dead deer lay quietly. one's flesh is torn and melted in the other still embraced by a fresh-night fur. the story they both live yet always ending on the same chapter. how strange it must be; to love thy neighbor both of different species, color, culture. in the conclusion they're both just bones and strangers laid next to each other in company, forever.
