I always had one thing to keep me steady
my mom
i know shes a drunk
but at least shes not an angry drunk like my dad
watching him hit her was the hardest thing growing up
it taught me i cant do anything
that i cant stop anything

Then again 
my mom isn't helping me that much either
dad had a problem even i know that
but she didn't even try to help him
all she did was send him away
now my dad is in jail
she doesn't care about me
I wish my dad was here
at least he cared

Then i met josh
he was then sweetest boy you could met
but like my father
he was an angry drunk
he use to hit me
but he would always apoligize
and instead of not trying like my mom
I tried to help him
and I fell in love

Josh broke up with me one day
he texted me and said
*I'm sorry baby but this is not gonna work*
I couldnt believe it
my whole life i spent working with him
he was my life
he was my everything
and without him i didnt want to live

On that night
I was talking to Nina Worsley
and Chloe Jackson
they helped me survive that night

I was getting by fine without Josh
I even met a new boy Korri
but recently
hes been texting me
asking for me back
last night he told me my brother wanted to be part of his gang
he wanted me to meet him to talk about it
so i went

One go back to your mom, you both went through abuse. It's not a nice world. Deal with it. If your dad's negativity taught you that yes! You can do anything, oh.. But you don't want to be like him.. Then shift what he taught you, you CAN do anything! Go talk with her go rent a movie and let the relationship grow.. Because you changing tide!! How can you expect her to have a normal relationship if she has never had one and the fact that emotionally it robs time and controls it. When you helped an asshole quit drinking, then you can help her, then she can help you, but when you helped him.. It taught you self control, so he is just a lesson.. Scratch his ass off.. Now go do it for your mom.. Learn real love first, because all you know right now is called co- dependent.. So like her you can waste away in oppression leading to depression always looking for someone else to fix what's left. If ain't any body else wanted by law and all clear them step up.. You are your own experiment in life. And if don't work tomorrow, try again the next day.. The fact that your here she's here means something's right.. Now in jail your dad will have to do right.. It's called anger management.. Be glad you didn't let it rub off on you.. How much you wanna bet your mom don't know how to do what you want because no one showed her.. How much you wanna bet that she don't have a clue about those feelings.. Because if you think cuteness is going to fix it then when you see her your looking in the mirror. Now don't argue with her. But if you can do all that and have survived all that!! Baby you can survive a happy ending, y'all are going to disagree and argue that's normal get her in AAA if her drunkeness is off the wall call the cops they will help her in a program and stick with her in there tell them  your situation.. They will help turn it around.. I don't even want to hear about the other shit because first of all you have no business out there like that.. Trust me! Girls/women tend to fall for men that 'resemble' (not physically but emotionally) their dads.
If their fathers are good men, good.
If their fathers are abusive men, bad.
This is a difficult cycle to break out of. I don't know your age, but if you can, I would declare 'independence' by the courts and live by yourself - as far as way as possible from the cycle of abuse that surrounds both your parents. The 'system' will help you find a job without dropping out of school.
When you're over eighteen you can reassess your relationship with your parents from a point of view of strength and independence.
As far as the boys/men in your life, with this new awareness, you must keep your distance from the abusive types. You may psychologically like to be with someone like your dad. YOU NEED TO BE WITH SOMEONE WHO ISN'T.

Baby stop writing and start acting. You're too young to worry about life like this. Stand up for yourself and demand the respect you deserve. Demand it from him but most importantly demand it from yourself. If you cannot respect yourself and your thoughts then you'll never be respected or treated well in return. But don't expect positivity from every one. Shut out negatives and push out positive energy and hope all will be better.
