You have gone Withdrawn your presence - I have cried alone In the fields of a dome For days, weeks, months - I have walked so long Staring up at your throne Feeling so small - Your violets, a violent thorn Overpowering my sky Imposing pain In the ability of my eye In awe I gazed up bereft Decomposed I laid down - Pieces fell from right to left I wore hatred of myself as a gown My words hurt my comfort With which love is born So – I release the effort and move on When I stepped in To end the pain My presence called the rain It washed and cleaned the dryness It soothed the edges Released the harness Polished the past I felt it moving again within me Pushing and throbbing - The love was winning You left but are here In the silence that I carry Alone I can hear Your heart is inside Has never stopped To linger and abide Different strange shape Unlike what I have known I welcome the change - And carry on
