Next to the big window,
close to the radiator,
The greenest of thumbs,
watered and pruned,
You kept me.
Cheerful leaves
thrived on me
thirstier, greener,
each passing week.
Sun-kissed blushed petals
Bloomed within, around spring
All my flowers in your vase
Sitting by your bedside place
You’ve lost your sweet touch
But you could be a florist
Thirstier, weaker,
Each passing week
the soil now bleaker
overgrown thorns
Next to your big window
Life slips away
