I still remember the harness‘s cold hug, And how the rope felt in my hands. I still remember the sound of her voice , And the way it was in my mind. I still remember the dust in my shoes And the way my throat was cracking. I remember drowning as the golden gate Swallowed us whole. I remember the clouds, The birds, The way your hand fit in mine. I remember gasping for air And feeling guilty for taking it. If I were to ask you what you remember You‘d blink and say „The way your eyes were filled with fear, And the trembling of your hands“ But I remember her leaving.
