Because our pride, one-side perception and insecurities takes control- Perception making us only see our reality, instead from everyone else's side- which could offer a world of options. Pride unable to accept our behaviour and habits learnt to originally to survive, are majority of the things holding us back and maybe why it's so difficult to integrate- Get's to point there are bad people in the world, but we are still continuing toxic behaviour... alienating and hurting all that surround. Insecurities ripping the most beautiful parts of ourselves apart, not asserting these special qualities into our life. Falling into victim mentality which is just as harmful as narcissism to those who surround- holding ourselves back from looking at the big picture or taking life by the reigns. 

The reason why your better with others, is because you offer them an other view on reality- in which isolation,  they would of never seen. To surround ourselves with ideas and others experience, is how we improve ourselves- as views need to be challenged and broaden, to continue to grow. When stuck in our own bubbles, refusing to experience anyone else's is where... we hurt others and ourselves, by wearing horse's blinkers.  Also other people see our pains, with less attachment and this will less likely influence rational thought. Allowing them to offer a well thought and rational advice.
