I feel exactly the same way. We were taught in grade 10 biology all about the Green House effect and how carbon released from petroleum and coal usage unchecked would lead to a civilization, if not species, -ending increase in global temperatures and a rise in oceans from the belting in the Arctic icecap, the Greenland ice sheet, glaciers in Antarctica, leading to catastrophic flooding in areas that contain over 80% of the world&#8217;s population. Crop production levels would plummet with the annual runoff from area like the Himalayas drying up, and possibly leading to water-wars like over the Ganges in the Indian subcontinent. Further, the ph levels in the oceans (which produce half the world&#8217;s oxygen) will be so thrown off that there would be a mass die-off of coral reefs (where the global food chain begins) as well as all manner of marine life. Then we covered extra potent run away green house gases such as methane stored in Canada and Russia in the muskeg bogs being released passed a certain point that the Earth would turn into a giant hothouse.

But not to worry said Mr. Briars, these things will be addressed by switching to other forms of energy that even already exist. Yep, and when was this? *1986!!!*.

This has been the slowest moving train wreck that we all knew was coming for most of my life, yet super rich people bordering on Mr. Burns from the Simpsons level evil (Murdoch, DeVoses, Koch&#8217;s, Waltons, etc.) have taken over so much media to push the lie that climate change isn&#8217;t happening? I haven&#8217;t been able to go outside with my asthma and heart disease once since June from all the forest fire smoke, and their hadn&#8217;t been a day that hasn&#8217;t been over >30C since the beginning of July, and I live in Canada, fairly north.

Do these greedy oil magnates and others think their descendants&#8217; inheritances will somehow protect them? No, of course not, they&#8217;re malignant narcissists that don&#8217;t even care about their own grandchildren. I&#8217;ve just become a grandfather, two grandkids since February 2022, and I shudder at night with insomnia truly fretting over what kind of lives they&#8217;ll be living, if living at all, in 2050, 2060&#8230;

If there is a Hell I sorely hope the bottom level that even Dante missed is reserved for these obfuscaters that if not killed the entire human race then will have knocked it back to 200 to 300K max, and they may envy the dead.

And to those Fox News watching dilettantes that may have read this??? Yes, 100s of thousands of climate scientists spread across the world in hundreds of research facilities, out in the field, and universities have an overwhelming consensus, we&#8217;re see the effect before our eyes, yet they are all part of a vast left-wing conspiracy. My Lord, you can&#8217;t have three people with two given a secret who will keep it from the 3rd, and y&#8217;all google down oil company propaganda like this? TF is wrong with you?!?
