Flowers lost in measure
At an outstretched hour
Born sightless in the once
Sacrosanct hedgerows
Picked belatedly
--And invisibly so--
Taken from their family
To unconditional surrender
Upon a cold stark table
Where those assembled
Finished off love with their meal
