You rooted yourself in my dreams Long before I knew your schemes Long before I knew the shape of your smile Curled up crooked planting denial In my mind Long before I met you You held my heart in exile How I betrayed all my past lovers While you crept in under the covers Laying the shape of your jaw And the marks on your back I now claw In my mind Long before I knew how your eyes Would steer and sear into my seams You rooted yourself in my dreams.

is this fate?
You rooted yourself in my dreams Long before I knew your schemes Long before I knew the shape of your smile Curled up crooked planting denial In my mind Long before I met you You held my heart in exile How I betrayed all my past lovers While you crept in under the covers Laying the shape of your jaw And the marks on your back I now claw In my mind Long before I knew how your eyes Would steer and sear into my seams You rooted yourself in my dreams.
