As I try to listen to myself amidst these sirens that scream at my house almost 24/7, the question of “What do I want to do today” might be a difficult one to answer. It might leave me with me with an empty canvas or a blank page. And would I give myself permission to fill either one without guilt from doing nothing productive? Suppose I abandon both for a beer down at the pub? “Il bel far niente” I’m thinking that I don’t need to be in Rome to appreciate the beauty of doing nothing.
