I asked the vampire If it hurt his mind To feed on the living And to leave time behind I asked the ghost If it pained his soul To know he was no more Than a formless immortal I asked the werwolf If it tormented his heart To know how he mindlessly Rips people apart They all answered yes It pained them so To know of the sorrow That they themselves sow They weeped at the thought They cried for the dead Tears dripped from their eyes As they hung their head I asked them of their home Of the shadows in which they live They went utterly silent They had only horror to give But in all honesty The shadows seem nice They called it evil Filled with rats and mice Next time you want life Or strength beyond measure Or more time with family Just simply remember Choose your words wisely Or you will live feeling sad Say what you mean Or you will be had
