A letter to your younger body.
Dear younger body,
you bolted long before the hairline did.
I chased you for years,
through mirrors, through bravado,
through the daft strut I thought passed for confidence.
But look at us now:
a timeworn frame, sun on our knees,
finally still enough to notice
how much you carried for me.
Thank you for staying
even when I pretended you hadn’t.
