A spring orbit. Something is loosening. This week we turn toward what is coming back, and what we are finally ready to let come back.

Harshness vanished. A sudden softness
has replaced the meadows' wintry grey.
Little rivulets of water changed
their singing accents. Tendernesses,

hesitantly, reach toward the earth
from space, and country lanes are showing
these unexpected subtle risings
that find expression in the empty trees

The Thaw

my current class is on literature in the AIDS crisis and we read the anger of David Wojnarowicz as he was dying and the anger at the world for allowing the dying and im finding there's something of an anger that is thawing in myself and i think i should have always been angry for what has happened and what is happening. not the passive anger that was always there but the hot and desperate anger of a dying man in a world that sees his dying and deliberately turns away from it all
