If I was a mountain
That soared towards the sky,
With craggy snow caps
And stormy grey eyes-
Then you'd be the clouds
That swaddled my peak,
That silenced my thunder
When I tried to speak.
If I was the earth
The desert, in fact:
With arid dry soil
And mud, baked and cracked-
You'd be the rain
The downpour that soothed;
The balm to my bruises,
Relief to my wounds.
If I was the Moon
In the indigo night,
With stars as my blanket
And silver; my light-
Well you'd be the Sun
Just always behind
That lent me your glow
And caused me to shine.

Friend who?
That girl you walk around with all the time?
That girl who rants to you about her lifeline?
That girl who pretends to be your guideline?
That girl who can't oversee your "I'm fine"?
That girl who always has you confined?
That girl who always wants herself to outshine?
That girl is sure to abandon you, once you reach the coastline.
For friends are more than just that!
Friends who?
Those people you sit with during recess?
Those people you try so hard to impress?
Those people who curtail your success?
Those people who say "You're always so depressed" ?
Those people around whom you simply can't express?
Those people who fake promise to stay, nonetheless?
Those people are sure to disappear.
Wait, don't yet confess!
You'd say "Friends are more than just that!"
But tell me, what are even friends anymore?

A forlorn tree standing all alone,
swaying in the breeze, all on his own.
His leaves are blowing, on a sunny, calm day,
as if he was happy in some kind of way.
As time passes on and days go by,
this lonely tree looks ready to cry.
The sky goes darker, the clouds turn grey,
he doesn't seem as happy, he's blowing away.
As it comes to an end and days turn to night,
the poor little tree gets a bit of fright.
Standing on his own, with no one else around,
he's stuck all alone planted to the ground.

Bleeding and burning and
living and dying....
Needing and turning and
giving and crying....
