"Why do you love me?"
to which I replied "Because I do."
that was not entirely true
you see, there are many reasons
too many to name them all
so I'll just list a few
your hair
your eyes
how you're mine
your voice
your laugh
how you smile
when you talk like you know it all
how I know you'll catch me if I fall
your lips
your touch
the warmth it brings
your smell
your strength
just about everything
It may seem crazy to you
cause you don't seem to get why I do
but darling I love you
That's nothing but the truth

Minutes feel like hours
And hours feel like days
I forgot you had this power
To make me fall for your gaze
The second that we're apart
My smile instantly fades

Are you alright, are you fine, are you good?
Are you adequate, are you decent?
Are you emotionally stable, sleeping without crying, smiling because you want to?
Are you breathing without questioning, are you waking up without trying, are you eating without throwing up?
Are you reading this poem right now and thinking no?
Are you thinking for the first time, will I ever be okay?
You will be okay.
You will be alright, you will be fine, you will be good.
You will be adequate, you will be decent.
You will be emotionally stable, you will sleep without crying, and smile for the happiness blooming inside of you.
You will breathe without questioning, you will wake up to a new day, you will eat easily

are going to be okay.
So please smile sunshine

“No! Move on!” Demands the mind.
“Ugh! Please hold on!”, pleads the heart.
