I'm new to writing poetry, but I have started to really enjoy it. I would love to hear your critiques and I hope that you enjoy reading it.
This is a tale of marvel and wonder Of adventure and treasures So full of Splendor Not gold, nor money could ever compare To allow yourself to be free of all care To absorb a new scent, to learn a new thing Curiosity, what a curious thing But, I digress from the adventure at hand I must now tell you about this man He packed his belongings Yearning for something new He undertook an adventure to grow, he grew Left his family and friends with a heavy heart But deeper down he knew, he needed the fresh start He traveled miles upon miles to a foreign land He knew not the language, nor how to get around But quickly he learned to open his mind, His heart did follow close behind He adapted and grew With friendships anew Bond deeper than oak roots Friends truer than true He felt he learned about the world and himself too He felt he had re-blossomed Like the spring flowers in bloom An awakening of the spirit, A stimulant to the mind These are the treasures that will last a lifetime. The moral of the tale is simple as this…. Experience, indulge, and give this big world a look It’s never too late to rewrite your book.

The mind of the traveler is a wonderful thing Curious, inquisitive The attitude of a traveler is a wonderful thing Open, kind, & respectful The life of a traveler is a wonderful thing Stores, adventures, & memories

The Traveler
I have loved, I have lost But, the saddest part…. Most of them never even know How, loved they were How, Lost I was

Confessions of the heartbroken
The fields are green Lush in the spring The flowers, a welcome sight For the winter was cold And the wind it blew bold It chilled the bones in the night

Primavera
Those ticks These tocks This endless paradox The clocks, they haunt me so Too fast Too slow No control Less, needing more To it I'm a feast

Clocks
The heart can be fickle It can waver and wander It does things that make you really wonder And sometimes we marvel at all of its wonder It makes us cry and really feel pain It makes us smile, dance, and laugh in the rain It’s our most trusted friend and worst enemy But most of all it’s yours to give Live life beautifully

Affairs of the heart
I don’t know when it went wrong I don’t know how to make it right All I know is I lay in bed sleepless at night Mulling mistakes and words left unsaid Pondering why I fled, I fled, I fled Scared to lose what was already there Scared to find out what you left unsaid Rejection, fear, shame that I had Confidence lacking I feel so scared Loneliness aches, deep in the soul Confusion perpetuated by words left unsaid
