It's dark outside and I can't see anything without my flashlight
It's cold and the wind caresses my face and hair, blowing it from side to side
I look up to the sky and see the faint glowing dots, and the sun of the night unlike the moon of the day
The stars that are so far away, but are able to be bright enough for all of us to see
The moon that glows magnificently in the dark cold sky on this earth
Also far away from us, but close enough to shine enough light on this planet
I am thankful for it's light to guide me back home
It's light for me to look up and remember what a home is
Having it's divine glow embrace me and carrying me into it's care and love
It's close enough to be able to not only be seen, but to see me as well
Making sure I'm not alone at night

No one wanted to be my guardian angel
Who would watch over me? Who would protect me?
So I became my own
Washing myself from sin and makeshift halos
I became my own guardian angel
I don't need any other angel to protect me anymore
Yet this halo keeps falling off from my head

Whoever you are, whoever you may be
I have already loved you
And I will love you forever more
But alas, I can't love you just yet
For my own sake and for yours too
From what I have felt and endured, I can't risk being with you so quick
But once the rainstorm stops, the hurricane done for, the sunshine and rainbow of the aftermath will caress us
I will try to love myself to widen the space of my small heart
I will make it a house for you and I my love
When it's big enough, we'll buy new furniture to decorate and express our love for us both
A bed here, a chair there
Potted plants around our home and a sofa in the living room
"Home is where the heart is" means what it means
It'll be a long while for us to become what we ideally want to be
As apart, or as a whole, whatever what will lead us to be "us"
But I will expand my heart once more for whoever my darling will be
