I christened my passenger seat this morning. I Freed Her of Original Sin, and blessed Her in my own piety; I scrubbed the boys I loved before from the fibres of the fabric and I forgave Her. I condoned rebirth. We celebrate her commitment to True Love, and we move forward in the light of Helios, and we honour Her ceremoniously. She is Changed. She and I run until we run on empty. She carries Truth in Her cushions, and Truth grins at me in the May sunlight. She takes me to the sea and She sets me Free. She carries me to a waterlogged rebirth and soaks up every wrong I brought upon Her. She forgives Me. I am Changed!

The Second Running
bitter air pours through cracked windows at sixty miles per hour dashboards turn to focal points turn to the only sight i'll keep from these days and the nighttime pitch black glosses over moments of eyes glazed the week's exhaustion turns each of us up, empty and dour we work through our days and leave the waking hours to devour sprawled over small couches and cold basement floors, always dazed we come alive to mood music and greasy food at odd hours, forever unfazed we make each spontaneous saturday night, uniquely and quietly ours the clock in the dash reckons 3:46am in a thin, strobing green he blinks hard, weary eyes and overworked body, fighting against the morning and the neon signs of the little old marketplaces, oh, how they sing we wire ourselves and electrify our moments with caffeine we crash and burn and forget every night, ignoring our own warnings and the sleepless sacrifices for each other's wonder, oh, the upswing.

for the girl with vines of lilac encircling her ribs, like the ivy on the turrets of her castle; she, with her gentle smiles and gentler hands, walks confident, not proud, speaks to be heard, not loud. you've walked her floors and ran your fingers through the tapestries she weaves in the loose braids of her hair. you kiss the hand of a princess, and step on the toes of a queen. for the girl whose elegance knows more of the growing season, than it sees of the green. spends her love to grant you yours, shares her wealth to make up for yours. she withers in broad daylight, her petals soaked in ammonium, and your fingers reek pungence. you begged to breathe more life into her, and now, she suffocates on you. for the flower girl, in loving memory.
