why don’t i get a loving mother?
someone who asks about my day
or is proud of me
someone who cares about my interests
i see others
with their moms that check on them
that post their children’s accomplishments
that love their children
was i not a good kid?
was i not lovable?
what did i do wrong?

when i was younger i thought astigmatism and a stigma were the same word
clearly they’re not
astigmatism is an imperfection in the curvature of the eye
a stigma is a set of negative and unfair beliefs that a society has about something
astigmatism means you may be near sighted
a stigma means if you had an abortion you may be seen as a *****
one is easily treated and one prevents people with addiction from seeking treatment
