All I ever wanted was a man with a heart of gold.
No, he wouldn't be a prince,
just someone I could hold.
Someone real,
someone bold,
someone with a heart of gold.

You call me crying,
I ask "What's wrong?"
You say I don't know that you've never been strong.
My dear, its okay,
You don't have to be fine.
If you give me the chance,
I'll speak in due time.
No need to explain your faults to me,
I have some that you just can't see.
I hide them under my long, dark sleeves.
I have gotten these scars,
from this monster I see,
when I look in the mirror.
My darling, that monster?
Well, she's me.

I have so much to say,
but have not a clue on where to begin.
so I guess I'll just start from the end...

In its own way, everything is strange.
It has a different fate, that's on a different page,
of this fairytale in the modern age.
This fairytale filled with monsters and beasts,
but within this land lies a peace,
that may be enough to be my release.

Sad and alone
she sits by the phone
who would have known
that the one at school
who played the fool
was always a tool
used by fakes
to fix the mistakes
that everyone makes
but in the end
there are no friends
no one to lend
a helping hand
to save her and
take off the band
of doubt that she
could never be
perfect and free
