It seems as if the grains of sand have passed,
so slowly through the hour glass,
yet here we are.
So far from our perfect moment in time.
Through passing seasons, of anger and pain,
of all questions that still remain,
the one that grips my soul the tightest, i ask.

Gazing upwards...
Admiring the beauty,
The canvas of darkness...the the celestial wonders.
The stars, strewn throughout the night sky.
Shining so brightly,
Like so many souls radiating their joy throughout the Heavens.
Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep
As i close my eyes...
A gentle calm encompasses me.
Thoughts begin to focus,
My heart begins to fill,
My spirit prepares for flight,

grasping for something.. anything,
reaching out, longing for someone.
Bitter cold.. all encompassing.
A soul afraid.. crying out in the night.
True beauty,
scarred.. hidden by the sufferings of the past,
a heart soiled, a spirit fractured.
The emptiness,
the need to be...
a mask.
Here i am.. look at me,
hold me.. love me.. want me.
A brief respite,
a moments relief from the pain,
suddenly, the mask shatters.. the peace no more.
Continuing.. so tired,
one shatters.. another replaces,

i felt as if i were lost
wandering aimlessly
a place so cold.. so dark and unfamiliar
the chill piercing my bones.
Off in the distance.. i saw you
alone and afraid
i called out to you
tried to run to you.. to no avail
then suddenly.. my heart felt your pain.
And my soul shed a tear...
In an instant you were gone
i had lost you once again.
And i shed a tear...
So dark the places one thought can carry us
a brief silence seems never ending

chorus of birds welcoming the new day.
