A simple declaration of love
Alone and stagnant
Your cesspool of misguided affection
Has become somewhat foul
A simple need for company
Branching and desperate
These roots of prolonged loneliness
Are no longer fickle
A simple cry for merging
Flavored with ambivalence
Your recipe for disaster
Has become cliche
A simple insist for quiet
Ignored and despised
Your heart has been unearthed
And your requests will go unnoticed

I’ve colored this lining a rosy hue
I’ve clashed this rage with innocence
And in this bed I’ve layed and lied
Unwillingly, forgiving and torn.
I’ve carefully accepted this name
I’ve traded this face with beauty
And in this skin I’ve caressed and beaten
Unknowingly, the Queen and the Pawn.

I've captured too many words for you
Grasping them from thin air
To place them on your dry lips
(Your silence is no longer my refuge
And I shall be your author no more)
I've swung this axe enough
Trying to break the ice that
You've deemed your shield
(Your ambivalence is no longer my muse
And I shall be your sculptor no more)
I've held you too tight
Tried sewing your wounds
And drew back ****** fingers
(Your fear is no longer my life passion
And I shall be your nurse no more)
And so, you've humbled me enough
I can now accept defeat
And leave you to your ego
(Your heart is no longer my obsession
And I will be your lover no more.)
