In the beginning it was beautiful, Every day so romantic, Thanking God for sending me such an amazing human being. But seasons change and people forget what they proclaimed. Waiting for your phone call even though it never came. I can't make you love me the way you did before. Your love is confusing yet tantalizing. Like a drug I keep going and screaming your name. To stay with you is a pattern but for some It's a pattern of disbelief. I don't even blame them because I struggle to plan even the simplest of things. Let alone thinking I'm in love with the commander in chief. Make up your mind. I want you. I hate you. I don't love you. This is a danger zone. I'm crazy over you but despise everything about you. You're down for the ride but we both are not ready for a lifetime. Who cares right? Rollercoasters have their highs and lows and still are lots of fun. Love is not set by definition but the way you make me feel. So I guess if I'm happy for a short time It's better than being sad till the end of time.

Indecisive Love
Hold me in your arms and just whisper No sound just the sound of the candle flicker It feels different this time I don't feel like you're really mine 'I Love You' is just a big lie You just want to see me beg and cry I used to think it was fine Until you took all my might and shine You heard it through the grape vine That I wasn't loyal But it wasn't me this time I can definitely see the signs

Disloyal
It’s the same routine, Why haven’t you done this? Why haven’t you done that? But then I have to remind myself THEY are not me, THEY are not living for my dream. Easy to judge, Because THEY  don’t know my story. Easy to criticise, When the people you know give you all the glory. But yet THEY bring me down, Put yourself in my shoes and stop being so mean. Same thing everyday, But attempted every single different way, Trying to get noticed, But somehow always rejected. Finally feel like you see progression, THEY are praying that you don't get the attention. Focus on yourself, And where you want to be, THEY should never affect you or your self-esteem. Not pretty enough to model, Not smart enough to teach, Just know that you are good enough to me. You can do anything you want, And be anything you want to be. You may not be the best you at this time, But I promise you THEY will notice you. And THEY will realise it was all apart of your scheme.

Not Good Enough By 'THEY'
They always say that the good ones go first, But the question I struggle to understand is why? Why did you have to leave? Why now? Why so early? But we can never answer questions like that you see Always wondering if this life will ever be fair and kind Losing someone you love is unbearable and painful So painful that you wish you could fly away with them Wait for me.. please don’t go But you can’t hear my call Because you are already settled in your new home While I’m stuck down here With the crazies, racists, sexists misogynists Why would you leave me here? You took the best thing that I ever had I know the fight was hard But I wish the fight was just a little longer Just so I could tell you how much I love you And now I don’t know what to do There’s no one to pick up my tears And turn them into butterflies No one to tell me everything will be okay I can’t say that he was being selfish when he whisked you away But don’t you think It’s funny He chose you out of everyone else And that made me realise why the good ones go first Because you was too perfect Too perfect to be sitting here with me Only angels know the meaning And one day I’ll be waiting for the day Waiting for the day, so you can tell me why? St Patricks Day
Standing up peering over the window ledge It’s hard to look down But yet I feel as though it was meant to be The only thing is I still feel there is no, perpetual bliss. Just a life leading in the same path Leading to nowhere, but everywhere Wandering whether it’s me or not Accepting me for me But who am I? Trapped in this vicious cycle No one is looking but I feel them staring I just want to hide Hide away from it all But I just can’t find the right way to do it Slowly drifting into a world of false hope Being comforted with words of love they say But it’s not the same when these same words, Are leaving these lips of mine My body, mind … It’s hard to talk about it I feel as though everything I’ve been told is a lie They say don’t look into the light, But I got blinded by the light and ended up being wrapped in the most comforting wings Sent from heaven above I’m finally home

Lost
Little black girl don’t cry, They just don’t understand your grace. Too scared to try and give you an embrace, Because the media have taught you to hate your face. Curly hair and plump lips, They wish they looked like you so don’t feel dismissed. I know It’s hard sometimes to wake up with a smile, But baby girl you’re something worthwhile. Little black girl don’t cry, If they appropriate and take your style. Doesn’t mean you still cant shine with that beautiful skin, So reflective that the sun can’t help but compliment your melanin. They say you’ve got that black girl magic, But drag you down when you try and project what you want to say. Have you noticed that you get more attention when you wear that swimsuit,But not in that cultural garment because it is too empowering and not subtle like a flute. Little black girl don’t cry, When they point at you and laugh. Dignity is what we were born with and unfortunately it can never be taught. We are strong, powerful and so full of prosperity, that we will always have the last laugh. From one stereotype to another, Life can be nothing but trouble. But from one black girl to another, Keep slaying like no other. Stay bright like the star you are, They only see darkness in our appearance because they cannot fathom the indescribable. Your skin tone is the beauty they refuse to see, But don’t you dare let it be the reason you cry yourself to sleep Because little black girl you are a beautiful sight to see!
