Painting pictures on the drive home
Signs reminding me of you
Falling victim to the live hope
that we'll be together soon
Perception has a way of changing
every time I feel at ease
Reflections of me getting stranger
than I have ever seen
You were gone one day in a blink.
Blew away upon the breeze
I'm alone watching the sun sink
into Suburban seas
Perception has a way of changing
every time I feel at ease
Reflections of me getting stranger
than I have ever seen

I'm up
and I'm down
You're far away but still spin me around
I'm alone
but I'm not
You've gotten to the bottom of my thoughts
Overlook my fears when you tell me that
you aren't scared anymore and that you care...
For me
Like I never thought you would
Forgetting all those thoughts you think I should
I'm lost
and I'm found
We're in between two screens and fifty towns
I'm at home
but I'm not
You've gotten to the bottom of my thoughts
Overlook my fears when you tell me that
you aren't scared anymore and that you care...
For me
Like I never thought you would
Forgetting all those thoughts you think I should
You are
Everything I thought you'd be
Remembering those thoughts you think of me

Getting tossed around like a puck
Can you get me out of here?
Getting lost in the sound of the one's
with the howling lungs and I'm in the clear
I've been counting down
a descending staircase
I'll stick around
and wipe the sweat off my face
Getting crushed on the ground like a bug
can you tell me honestly?
Am I strong enough to get back up
and stumble to my feet?
I've been counting down
a descending staircase
I'll stick around
and wipe the sweat off my face

You can only live so much
While holding on to that crutch
It buries you so deep
beneath the secrets you keep
You see your life in the corner of your eye
slipping by
You can only live so nice
While holding onto that vice
It strains your will to be
beneath the shadows you see
You see your life in the corner of your eye
slipping by

An unfamiliar start
Open the door
Open your mind
Let go of time
A familiar end
Hold on to time
Close your mind
Close the door
An unfamiliar start
Open your heart
Open your soul
Let go of turmoil
A familiar end
Hold on to turmoil
Close your heart
Close your soul
An unfamiliar start

Static cracks in a dormant station
as I pass through Allegheny mountains
Panic stacks a weight substantial
upon a boy devoid of answers
Brain attacking body
as we long to hear the stories once more
Paint the city and the peace corps
with softly spoken words adored
Fleeting brilliance casts an umbra
upon a man divest of function
Still resilient, sister and I
we slowly heal our hearts in time
Stronger now we look ahead
in time we'll find the answers yet
