Search inside yourself for love,
It has to start somewhere,
You have to love yourself before,
Others even start to care.
I learned the hard way,
I suffered alone,
Body Dysmorphia,
As it is better known.
I went insane first of course,
I couldn't look at myself,
I hated everything i was,
At risk of being left on the shelf.
People would say,
Surely it's not that bad,
But what do they know,
I was way past sad.
I decided to take it,
One step at a time,
I decided to change,
I started the climb.
Out of the dark,
No longer alone,
Working through my fears,
With my husband at home.

Pushing forward for another me,
Pushing through the pain,
Towards the goal i see,
Refuse to remain the same.
Enough of the cutting,
Enough of the hurt,
Enough rebuffing,
Its time to be alert.
I decided to change,
I'm sure that i can,
Sick of feeling strange,
I have a new plan.
Mind over matter,
Push to the edge,
Don't be a slacker,
Just breathe and stretch.

The nights are terrible,
But the days are worse,
Can't function like a human,
Just walk around cry and curse,
Why would you think of leaving?
Why couldn't you talk to me?
You never even had your first kiss,
This isn't how it should be,
The days are so long now your gone,
They all blur into one it seems,
I guess ill never see your face again,
I hope one day i find you in my dreams.
