There is a battle between the voices
Of kindness and cruelty
Both of which are screaming

Away from it all --
From the people I know,
And from the things I'm used to
I long to be elsewhere
A place I've yet to know --
To discover and to be free
And perhaps to get to know the person in me

Like being wrapped up in a thick blanket on a cold night,
Like waking up early and getting the first ray of sunlight;
Like flipping channels then catching reruns of your favorite show,
Like discovering new music and keeping it on repeat;
Like the wind in your hair and your toes in the sand,
