verbose, she is not
love and hate locked
in the depths of a brimming shelf
pull out one and grab a tea
shh- a whispered story
you will hear
a fleeting realm she once breathe
in time you'll grasp
in a melancholy verse sung
but the voices grew
the flame flickered
then- nothing.

*you have to free your demons.
that's the only way how.
but, honey, you have to know
that we are our own demons.
and freeing ourselves is the hardest.*

*Spinning round and round,
everything was magical and gold.
Pain waiting in the lounge
but you were not coming back.
this, it did not know
Up, down, up down,
then again.
You reached for the blinking lights,
thinking they made a good constellation,
the air was cold,
cheeks bright and crimson,
and you didn't care one bit.
The music was soft,
a lullaby straight from the music box,
and for a moment
you were a little ballerina--
swaying, twirling, living.
But all good things had to last.
This, you did not know.
You blinked once,
opened it with dusted eyes.*

*Baby, let's take a detour
Just drive and I'd ride shotgun
In an old Chevy truck, maybe
Feel the water kiss our toes
The sea breeze cold
While you put your arms around me
Sea gulls flocking free
We'd drive again for a while
Turn on the radio, baby
And sing and sing and sing
Like we rule this world
Find a cheap motel
Maybe talk about the universe
And laugh about silly things
Until sleep devour us
Then in the morning
When it's still pitch black
We'd watch the stars disappear
From the sky
And maybe, baby, we'd just fall in love.*
