American Writing has always been something I am really passionate about and can rely on to express my feelings at any point in time. Everything that I write comes from personal experience. I think that the best way to make writing relate-able is by being truthful. A lot of times, we aren't the only ones feeling a certain way and so to help people understand how they’re feeling in a poetic way has always been my goal. As for my inspiration, I really am inspired by Jesus. A lot of my stuff has Christian reference for that reason. It’s just the way things flow out for me. Also, being outside and looking at the beauty of God’s creation, rain or shine, really inspires me. And last, my friends and the people I surround myself with interest me in the way they talk and do things. I think human interaction can be just as inspirational as the other two. / / ~ He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection" - Psalm 91:4~
What a beautiful nothing we had Filled with empty words and false hope Our intentions were pure But the ending was bad Prescribe me something to stop the hurt I feel like love is slowly Being ****** from my soul There's no reason to be happy When you're stuck being alone. The words roll out of your mouth While the pain settles in These feelings I can't grasp Why is this happening again All of your words turned into lies Time to put on the disguise And hide my heart While it rips apart Under my skin

Under My Skin
Lies in disguise sound like caring words Truth in your eyes seem to cut me like swords Guess it’s time to suit up Breastplate and shield Protect myself until all wounds are healed They say fighting is wrong To forgive is to be strong While I’m working on that Just act like I belong Keep saying you’re proud Keep lying out loud Your words don’t mean a thing You haven’t helped or seen The life that I’ve been through It’s never for me It’s all about you But in the end you’ll see Just keep saying you’re proud of me. Adoration you expect yet, you can’t provide the means You chose to neglect every cry and every scream Not interested in love Not interested in me Interested in appearance So saying “I believe”. They say fighting is wrong To forgive is to be strong While I’m working on that Just act like I belong It’s time I started my quest I’m out to conquer the world For me, I must do what’s best The map must be unfurled I will pin my destination the farthest I will go to form a new foundation So that I can truly grow. But, keep saying you’re proud Keep lying out loud Your words don’t mean a thing You haven’t helped or seen The life that I've been through It’s never for me It’s all about you But in the end you’ll see Just keep saying you’re proud of me.

Proud Of Me
This is for all the girls Who think they aren’t skinny enough This is for all the girls Who think they aren’t pretty enough This is for all the guys Who think they have to act a little more “tough”, As if mere kindness isn’t enough. This, my friends, is for you. Our society today Has painted its own little picture Of how we should look So that guy’ll wanna “get wit cha” Of how to live and how to dream Of what to do and who to be Today it seems the only way to be “cool” Is to smoke a little and drink a few To stay out until all hours of the night Partying, getting higher than a kite See, what gets me confused is this The things we are told are right Are much different than what we see on TV If there is one thing I hate more than lying, It’s hypocrisy. We are told to exercise To get fit, and eat right Then what do we see? Models throwing up at night Scared Because the pressure is too much To eat is too pricy So food, they don’t touch. What is a model? Someone or something used as an example I don’t know about you, but When I shop, I grab up ALL the samples Starving isn’t realistic Nor is it “right” Regardless of your pant size, Regardless of your height. We are told that beauty is only skin deep That what really matters is all underneath I have yet to see one person at the VMAs With less than 5 makeup products on their face Why is that? There’s a simple Answer. Thanks to Maybelline and L’Oreal It costs 6 dollars for a beauty enhancer. Girls talk all the time About how there are no good guys out there. I hate to burst your bubble But saying that isn’t fair There are plenty of guys Who are respectful and kind But you push them away Without a care in your mind You want one thing Then it changes to another Because movies make you think You don’t have to really care for one another They show relationships as prideful, Full of lust and lies So when it comes to the real world, Kind guys are despised. So they mask their emotions with Hardness and Vulgarity Showing love on occasional, Rarely, and sparingly. See According to society, Men have to be “tough” Or else they are judged and pushed aside Left waiting for the one to call their bluff. This is for all the girls Who think they aren’t skinny enough This is for all the girls Who think they aren’t pretty enough This is for all the guys Who think they have to act a little more “tough”, You’re beautiful, you are loved. Don’t ever let anyone tell you You aren’t enough.

When you think of love you think of butterflies and flowers Prince Charming and towers happiness in abundance. You think of kisses and hugs Aladdin and rugs a sort of sixth sense. You think of daydreaming, hearts sinking no, not sinking, skipping. Red crayons and smiles Long stares into each others eyes Carnival rides You think of it being written in the sky and a sweet apple pie We see it as sea side picnics Holding hands Watching cheesy chick flicks all night long. Guys riding on lawn mowers holding up a boombox, blaring phil collins. We see walks on the beach shoreline just reaching our feet. When I think of love I think of awkward moments. I think of my father as he left my mother See, I want someone more than just a lover. When I think of love I think of a stomachache my last heartbreak and band-aids to hide the pain. I think of his hands in mine our thoughts intertwined I see the hurt in your eyes as I told you goodbye Our last kiss in the summer rain. I think of love as a societal excuse A word said too much, too often Just a word Nothing more than caution. When I think of love I see a dog’s loyalty to his owner and the owner showing him affection. A sunset, a beautiful sky The way the ocean shows its reflection When I think of love I think of the heart’s sight. Love is light. Love is Agape- God’s grace and mercy poured on top of me the day Jesus died on the cross. I think of no hope lost. When I think of love I think of Him I think of how. Love is here Love is now.

In the depths of the darkness I search for the light I’m finding it hard To tell day from night I know You’re there I just can’t see Right now I feel Like You’ve forgotten me. Well I’m sitting here yelling out loud at the top of my lungs You’re not making a sound. Can you hear me? Did I do something wrong? Are You near me? Or am I really alone? You are my savior I’ve admitted it’s so I’ve changed my behavior But You’re still yet to show.

Desperate
Time spent Love built just to be broken But aren’t hearts closed just to be opened? Another day With words left unspoken And you? You’re focused On chasing empty emotions Hurting and taking Welcome to my lesson: The art of breaking Just one glance Is all it took You stole my heart I was hooked Added me to your little black book Then took me for a ride My heart I left unprotected, On my sleeve, now feels neglected Thrown on the table were all my fears You did your collecting, then disappeared I was naked in mind and rejected By one to whom I felt so connected. Time to hide Embrace the aching This, my friend, is the art of breaking. Break out the tissues It’s time to cry Pour out your heart to some weird passerby You’re being suffocated by your thoughts and their lies “It happens, it’s life” Quotes that mean to help, but don’t Grasp the hopelessness, feel alone Your life you begin forsaking Now you know the art of breaking.
