She sat beside her window high... Above the castle walls She looked past, into the darkened woods She listened for his call He climbed the not so distant hill And surveyed the clearing below And raised his voice unto the moon So only she would know She ran out onto the terrace As she had heard the wanting sound Spread her cloak to catch the wind And gently touched the ground He had made his way through twisting trails And over the winding streams His breath was heavy into the fog That covered the floor of leaves Easily, she span the grounds... And he lepted the gardens gate He ran to her, and she to him... Both tempting well their fate Their love forbidden, it was told Written in ancient laws And they both knew, if they were found Death would surely fall Come my princess, to the woods Run away with me Deep into the misty forrest Amidst the red oak trees... Suddenly, his senses sharp To his ears. the footsteps loud He turned so quick and bared his teeth And gave a mighty growl The castle guard had followed them And found their secret place Readied their arrows, and drew their swords Death, the beast shall face! NOOO!!! she screamed!, and ran at them Her eyes were flaming red But he lept so high in front of her And shielded her instead The battle raged, fierce and long To the edge of the coming dawn The castle guards that had promised death Had fallen one by one The noble wolf, stood on shaking legs The battle he had won But a mortal wound laid to his chest He knew his time had come He limped to her and spoke so low My love, comes now so quickly the sun To your chamber you must go... Hurry my darling....run! The wolf he laid there at her feet And slowly closed his eyes And with those last words spoken The wolf he slowly died The Night princess knew full well The coming of the day... The sun in all its bright light Would take her life away She did not run, She did not leave She stayed with him instead She cried blood tears from her eyes In her lap, she held his head She lowered the veil of her blood soaked cloak She removed her royal sash And held onto him, so very hard As the sun turned her to ash

Sat her castle, cold and dark Upon the jagged hill Surrounded by the deepest wood Where seemed the time stood still There in the wood a cottege sat Of neat and propper trim None should dare to enter there The wood belonged to him Both existed in a solitude and lived within their ways He locked himself away each night She did the same each day She had been of noble birth A Barroness title to her name Yet a brief encounter late one night Her blood it left to taint He'd been a hunter most all his life and held a trackers skill But he was bitten late one night of the wolf he thought he'd killed An age has passed since that time and each lived on their own Far away from mortal eyes Carrying their curse alone Til the night she walked the wood Farther than she'd ever been And came upon the cottege door and carefully stepped in A thunderous roar, it launched at her poised to the attack She bared her fangs and glared at it As the chains had held it back The Vampress and The Wolf's eyes met that night both glowing green and red What could have been destruction both Something magical happened instread The moon now hid behind the clouds and showed his human form A flame ignited in her cold dead heart Her body began to warm Seeing clear her beauty held His rage did quickly melt His heart beat fast, His mind consumed by these new emotions felt And now the castle, nor the wood seemed as dark nor cold As the Vampress and the Wolf had eachother to hold Share!
