The frameless portrait on the wall
Has asked me many times:
‘What is the reason of it all?
You, standing in the night,
Alone, bruised knees,
stained dressed in blood.
Saving yourself somehow
From pictures in this corridor
That wanted you to bow.
Begging for mercy: Please, allow
My crows inside the cell.
Free creatures, they will break their claws
Knowing that's where I fell.
They'll break their necks, their beaks and wings
Trying to get to me. No witness needed. I will swear
On Bible. I will plea.
The portrait was so silent, still
So pale and hollow-eyed
The chilly wind got to my bones,
Barefoot, I couldn't hide.
She started speaking, looking down.
Ignoring creaky breaths
I took to proof I was alive.
No victory of the dead.
‘Red tiger's stripes, the pearls of tears.
One could've chosen you
To be a pet, amusement toy
But you still have the flu.
If only you had had no past,
No soul, no crows around.
If only you could just forget
The words men said out loud.’
‘No place on earth, in heaven, hell
Would let me be their child.
Their flower, spider, cedar, shell.
The Saint, the witch, the wild.
You know I've tried so many times
To enter their closed doors.
I wept and yelled, jumped reckless heights
to have the chance, one more.
I have green eyes, they say I’m cursed
Too frightened to believe
I'm just a human, just like them
I have no flames in me.
My blood is warm. I cannot fly.
My tears contain some salt.
I have a mother and a guide
how not to be so sore.
Still, I skipped lessons, poisoned air
And tried to run away.
Perhaps that's why the emerald grass
Would turn itself to flare.
The lifeless woman on the wall
gave me the last of looks.
‘Oh, dear, it's never been your fault.
Did you go to the brook?
Behind the church, next to the bench.
There's water of the truth.
Inside the house, no mirrors left –
The only things they took.
You must pursue at least one drop:
Reflection of yourself.
And after that, when you are caught
You will be claimed ‘bereft’.
Are you aware, there'll be no life?
The hope, believes, all dead.
Will you be brave enough to spend
The only treasure held?’
The crows to save, the blood to stop,
Gray woman. I'm inbetween.
But in a blink her vacant stare
Turned into valiant green.

The days of yours, the days of mine,
So different. Still, it takes world’s time
For me, to get why you have left
The open door for my regrets.
The face of yours, the face of mine,
Your eyes are blue, mine – mesmerized
By weakest hopes that you could stay
And let us have the winners’ fate.
The mind of yours, the mind of mine,
How cruelty could be so fine?
I asked this question many times,
The answer’s lost in wind and miles.
The hope of yours, the hope of mine,
Barely alive and fighting crimes
You have committed, once or twice?
The memory has been redefined.
The love of yours, the love of mine,
Have you read letters that I write?
The ones I scribbled on your fines,
My bills and checks, your tiny cards
The ones I burned and never marked?
The tears of yours, the tears of mine,
My winter coat is soaked with cries,
My earrings lost their shining skills,
My ring was stolen by your fears.
The fall of yours, the fall of mine,
“It’s quite unrealistic mind,
You have” you told me by the creek,
When I admitted all my dreams.
The life of yours, the life of mine,
Is there a reason to survive
The broken heart, unmended bones,
While your soul hasn’t changed at all?
I’ve hoped, forgiven, loved and lived.
There was no you, there’s only me.
My sun, my moon, my terrors, screams,
My cakes and candles and believe.
My nights, midnights, my mornings, noons.
The poem’s all about me, not you.

Short and sweet
Or cold and bitter,
There's no place for someone's filter
There’s no room for grief or tears,
“Cause all is love”, say these machines.
There’s a chair for ‘candy cotton’
And a bed for something rotten.
Don’t get sad, it’s all my fault.
There’s no room to jump and fall.
You’ll believe in something funny,
Something colorful but cunning.
Table’s left, the leg is broken
There’s no room for things unspoken.
You should open curtains now,
Let the lamp dissect your vow.
Let the sugar fill your veins,
So, you lose control and pace.
Don’t be miserable or blue,
They will fly you to the moon.
You’ll find out some day, however,
That it’s fake and made of paper.
There's no sadness in the land,
Cause all the sad ones gone and dead.

In the land of the blind and unable to hear
You were born to forgive and never to flee.
You were kissed by the sun,
You were cursed by the stars.
You meant everything there,
Till they saw all the scars.
Through the vague, unfamiliar,
Through the pain and the vain,
You fought all of the soldiers
Who were stained with your name.
All the battles and kisses and screaming hurray,
You would never forgive insurmountable pain.
On a day when the sunshine
Came through the darkening room
You became one of soldiers,
They've become one of you.
Black and gray were your colours,
You were nothing but tears.
Knights and kings drained you down,
Just because they weren't pleased.
You were dying in battles,
When I saw you in smoke.
You were covered in blood,
I was covered with souls.
You were down on your knees,
When my silk touched your skin.
Body covered in mud,
Lightning shining through me.
There was no artillery, and no guns and no ships,
I was all by myself without armor or whips.
I looked right in your eyes with no light and no hope.
It took you tight, here's surprise:
Your endless battle is gone.
There's no blood and no mud,
It's all empty and still.
Sunshine right through my chest
On your unshaken will.
You will never believe,
You are still in denial.
I've become one of monsters,
Living in your desires.
I will never forgive,
I've been fleeing forever.
Still, your face in the blood,
I could not forget, ever.

The life was blue and bittersweet
With colours mute but glistening.
The light, the sun, you saw in creeks
Too high to look up, unnoticeable.
So many paths, which one to take?
The central park was blustering.
He passed you by, no waring sent,
Sour taste replaced with eagerness.
...
The window opened, light came through
He's sitting by your side.
The letters written on the sand,
Handprint is on you mind.
You're switching seats, your cry is loud
Your pain is underneath.
He's saying words unknown to you
He's singing in the streets.
The day, brand new, the town, so old
Your soul has changed a bit.
Enough to notice there's a sound
each time you try to breathe.
Which name to take, which place to choose
No reason for the thought.
But feeling, loud, you notice it, you're trying to ignore.
The evening, usual, nothing new,
He's brought you here twice.
You have a chair that you love,
He said: "you're looking nice".
The cake arrived, the gloss inside,
You try to act surprised.
Your eyes with tears, the fate passed by,
He knew that you would lie.
The veil, still pain, the tears of joy
The people that you know.
Is it the dream you had in bed,
or fear you're fighting off.
He looks like prince, the dragon slayed.
The animal you loved.
But maybe that the change you need,
Says everyone in town.
The laughs, the words, the dress is here,
The weather is so still.
Forcast said there would be the rain,
The sun is so strong willed.
You wish the wind would be your guest,
Your savior and your Lord.
He tames the weather, just for you,
He's driven by the love.
Will you say 'no'? Of course you won't,
Your mother bought the dress.
Her eyes, so bright, they're filled with pride,
She thinks that you're alright.
But that's the dream, a picture from
A sparkly magazine,
A film you saw, a book you read,
Good god, did they mislead?
There's no way back, you cannot flee
You know that he'd forgive.
The guilt, so big, would never leave.
It'd turn you into grit.
You smile, you say the words out loud,
They're waiting for the vows.
The promises, so hard to make,
No option for the clown.
He knows you're fake, he knows you bleed,
He'd never say the truth.
He thinks he saves you from the witch
The one who's stealing youth.
He doesn't know you made a pact,
Cause someone bought your soul.
You have a plan, you wrote it down
The path is right next door.
Your time is ticking, not much left,
You wish they wouldn't know.
There's still a chance you change you mind,
And follow rivers' flow.
There is a chance you start to breathe,
A chance to change the ending.
The crowd of yours will not be pleased
If you ruin someone's wedding
