Am I being spun a beautiful lie?
Is the sparkle in their eyes
Just what I perceive
Do they just want to see tears fall when they leave?
Would it make you feel important,
If you cracked me in two?
Kept one half for a souvenir
And threw the other to the wolves
I've always been in two.
You wouldn't need to crack me.
Both sides of me are shaken, withered, snapping
Are you winking at each other
When I avert my eyes?
Do you often do nice things,
to see my pathetic surprise?
Forever grateful
A servant of your whim
Just promise me
