I discovered the beauty of poetry in middle school, and I turned to writing as a way to sort out my thoughts and feelings when I felt lost, confused, or unsure about different facets of my life. / When I was 14, I discovered spoken word poetry, the art of performance poetry. / I fell in love. / I became inspired. / When I write, I offer a portion of myself for the world to keep.
