i always say, my love is not fragile and i take pride in that, yes, i do. because my love is resilient, my love is tough, my love is strong. especially when it's for you. but sometimes i think it's too strong, and it seems like you think so too. i love you when you shine so bright, like the first sunrise after the winter solstice, when you feel like the warmth of a long-awaited summer day. i love you when your eyes sparkle at the sip of your favorite drink, or when your infectious laugh rings in my ear because of the palpable joy that you feel. oh babe, i love you when you're happy. but then again, my love is not fragile. because i love you when you feel like the quiet before the chaos, when you feel like a stormy day waiting to rain on my parade even if i know that you don't really want to. i love you when you see the beautifully breathtaking woman i see every day, because i love you when you feel your best. but my darling, i can't help but to love you a little more when you don't feel like you. i love you a little more when you don't feel like you deserve the love that i give you. i love you even when you feel like you're not allowed to be, i love you even when you say the words i don't want you to love me. because that's the way that i simply do. it's the way that i love to love you. so my dear, pardon me if it became too much at some point, if it came on too strong, too fast. i admit that my love is not fragile yes, i do. it's a double-edged sword too sharp for us two. and i must confess my being clashes with hurt and with guilt with all that has happened i love you, i do. often times it's a lot and i apologize for that oh my darling it's true because if i can't love you like i do then i cannot love you at all so if you must go and be free from the shackles of love that is also called me go on go on your way and take this poem with you. because your little lover girl wants you to know, that wherever you may go, a fraction of her heavy heart is with you. locked away, with your name etched into it for safe keeping, just in case you want to remember that someone like me loves you. take care of it because it will take care of you it will love you just like i do even in the days that you don't think it's worth it to. because it will love you whenever you need it to, and even when you don't. because that is the way i love you. and if someday we happen to cross paths once more, i hope i find you with a love that is passionate yet gentle, strong, and true. i hope they love you, better than i do. because yes my love is not fragile but maybe just maybe it's time for it to be. especially when in your heart there isn't enough room for you and me.
